Hypertensive Efficacy and Safety of Perindopril on the Patientw with Essential Hypertension

Abstract
|
|
|
Perindopril(AcertilR) is a new ACE inhibitor which was recently incently introduced in Korea. The report on the effect and safety of perindoprilin Korean patients is limited.
Eighteen patients, aged 27~70, with mild to moderate essential hypertension were administered perindopril 4mg once daily for 3 months to evluate its hypotensive efficacy, safety and patient compliance.
@ES The following results were obtained.
@EN 1. Blood pressure dropped from initial 165/100mmHg to 148/92mmHg at the end of 3months trial resulting 17/8mmHg decrease with 67% effectiveness
2. Normalization of blood pressure(less than 150/90mmHg) was obtained in 6 patients(33%) followed by GI trouble in 1 patients(6%) which normalized after completion of trial.
4. The rating of safety was 89% and overall usefulness was 61%.
Administration of perindopril 4mg daily was well tolerated and effective in the treatment of mild to moderate essential hypertension.
